Chaque année, le Groupe Wanty va à la rencontre de centaines d’étudiants et jeunes diplômés lors des Job Days organisés au sein des universités et hautes écoles. Une démarche essentielle pour nourrir notre dynamique de croissance, partager nos valeurs et créer des rencontres humaines qui comptent.
Pour mieux comprendre l’importance de ces événements et ce qui attend les visiteurs sur notre stand, nous avons posé 8 questions à la Cellule Talents du Groupe Wanty.
1. Pourquoi le Groupe Wanty participe-t-il à autant de Job Days ?
La cellule Talents :
« Parce que la rencontre humaine reste irremplaçable. Nos métiers évoluent, nos équipes grandissent, et les besoins en compétences sont variés et en constante expansion. Les Job Days nous permettent de rencontrer les talents là où ils se trouvent, au plus près de leur formation. C’est un moment privilégié pour échanger, informer et surtout, créer un premier contact spontané avec celles et ceux qui pourraient être nos collègues de demain ».
2. Qu’est-ce que vous recherchez principalement lors de ces événements ?
La cellule Talents :
« Nous recherchons avant tout une attitude : la motivation, l’envie d’apprendre, la curiosité. Bien sûr, les compétences techniques ont leur importance, mais ce qui fait la différence, c’est la personnalité. Nous souhaitons rencontrer des profils qui ont envie de s’investir, de relever des défis et de faire partie d’un groupe solide et familial où l’humain est central ».
3. Que peut-on attendre en venant vous voir sur votre stand ?
La cellule Talents :
« De la transparence, de la proximité et un vrai échange. Notre stand est conçu comme un espace ouvert et accueillant, où chacun peut venir poser ses questions, découvrir nos métiers, nos projets, et comprendre concrètement ce que signifie travailler chez Wanty ».
4. En quoi ces rencontres sont-elles importantes pour le Groupe Wanty ?
La cellule Talents :
« Parce qu’elles nourrissent notre vision : une entreprise forte se construit grâce aux femmes et aux hommes qui la composent. Les Job Days permettent d’expliquer nos valeurs, nos ambitions, notre culture et de montrer qu’un groupe comme Wanty est une formidable opportunité d’évolution. Ce sont souvent ces échanges qui déclenchent des stages, des premiers emplois, puis des carrières complètes chez nous ».
5. Quel message principal souhaitez-vous transmettre aux étudiants ?
La cellule Talents :
« Osez venir nous parler. Même si vous n'êtes pas encore sûr de votre voie ou si vous pensez que votre profil n’est pas “exactement” celui que nous recherchons… venez ! Le Groupe Wanty ouvre de nombreuses portes : chantiers, bureaux d’études, fonctions supports, techniques, administratives. Il existe toujours un point de rencontre possible entre votre parcours et nos besoins ».
6. Quels types de profils rencontrez-vous généralement sur ces Job Days ?
La cellule Talents :
« Tout dépend des écoles, mais nous retrouvons une grande variété : ingénieurs industriels ou civils, bacheliers en construction, électromécanique, informatique, mais aussi des profils orientés gestion, communication ou sciences humaines. Notre force, c’est la diversité de nos métiers, qui permet de proposer des opportunités tout aussi variées ».
7. Si un étudiant est intéressé après vous avoir rencontrés, comment peut-il poursuivre le contact avec le Groupe Wanty ?
La cellule Talents :
« La suite est très simple : il peut nous suivre via notre plateforme emploi et y déposer son CV quand il le souhaite. Chaque candidature reçoit automatiquement un accusé de réception, puis elle est analysée par nos recruteurs.
Si le profil correspond à un besoin, nous le recontactons pour débuter le processus. Et oui, nous recrutons vraiment : de nombreux talents nous rejoignent chaque année, avec de vraies perspectives d’évolution grâce à la Wanty Academy et à notre accompagnement interne. »
8. Que retenez-vous le plus de ces journées ?
La cellule Talents :
« L’énergie. Les échanges passionnés, les sourires, les découvertes. Chaque Job Day rappelle pourquoi nous faisons ce métier : accompagner des talents, leur offrir une place pour s’épanouir et construire ensemble l’avenir du groupe. Ce 3 avril, nous étions présents à la Journée de l’Emploi de l’EPHEC. Tout au long de la journée, notre stand a attiré de nombreux visiteurs, curieux d’en apprendre davantage sur nos métiers, nos projets et les perspectives d’évolution au sein de notre Groupe.Parmi eux : Thomas, 23 ans. En fin de bachelier en automatisation, il a pris le temps d’échanger avec nous.« Je voulais découvrir les entreprises du secteur et surtout échanger directement avec des professionnels », explique-t-il.S’étant déjà renseigné en amont, il connaissait déjà le Groupe Wanty de réputation, notamment via certains chantiers. Mais cette rencontre lui a permis d’aller plus loin : « Je ne pensais pas qu’il y avait autant d’opportunités, ni autant de diversité dans les métiers.»Comme beaucoup de jeunes, Thomas recherche avant tout un environnement de travail stimulant, avec des possibilités d’apprentissage et d’évolution. Une vision en phase avec les valeurs portées par le Groupe Wanty. « On sent directement que Wanty est une entreprise où on peut évoluer et apprendre sur le terrain. »Une première prise de contact positive, qui pourrait bien se concrétiser prochainement : Thomas envisage désormais de postuler chez nous.Cette journée confirme une nouvelle fois l’importance de ces rencontres directes pour créer du lien, valoriser les métiers et susciter des vocations.

An electric atmosphere, fuelled by supporters, chants, fervour, and that unique tension that accompanies major sporting events.And the spectacle delivered: a resounding victory for Sporting Charleroi (2-0), in a roaring stadium. Training Today for Tomorrow's Talent: Custom Programme for Water Main Operatives
At the Wanty Group, we firmly believe that the future of our professions lies in passing on knowledge, training, and supporting talent. It is with this in mind that we have just launched, in partnership with The Forem, a bespoke training programme for water mains operatives – a vital profession serving everyone.This initiative is part of the ‘Skills Shortage Blitz’ training programmes, designed hand-in-hand with businesses to meet concrete needs on the ground… and offer real prospects for sustainable employment.Strong Interest from the Information SessionThe information session was a success right from the start: nearly 70 candidates attended, demonstrating growing interest in this technical, valuable, and meaningful profession.During this session, participants were able to discover:the duties of a water mains operative,the training content,the job requirements,and, crucially, the concrete employment opportunities within the Wanty Group.Following the selection process, around ten interns will join this training programme with a clear objective: to join our teams on a permanent contract (CDI) once it concludes, scheduled for late June.Selection Based on Skills… and MotivationTo join the training, interested candidates had to register and complete several stages:mathematics and French tests,an eligibility interview,a medical examination.But beyond basic skills, motivation is a crucial factor. Becoming a water mains operative means choosing a demanding, hands-on profession that requires diligence, commitment, and team spirit.This training allows interns to practically discover the profession, understand its realities, and acquire the necessary technical skills before joining our field teams.The Water Mains Operative Profession: A Key Role for SocietyOften overlooked, the water mains operative profession is nevertheless essential to the daily lives of every Walloon. Mainly, water mains operatives are responsible for:the installation and maintenance of the drinking water distribution network,from production (catchment, water treatment plant),right up to residential and business meters.They also intervene to detect and repair leaks, thereby ensuring the continuity and quality of water supply.A technical, hands-on, useful profession that directly contributes to collective well-being and the preservation of a vital resource.Training with Genuine Employment ProspectsThe ‘Skills Shortage Blitz’ training programmes have a distinct characteristic: they are custom-built with the company, directly linked to its needs.Key benefits include:a targeted training pathway,gradual immersion into the profession,and most importantly, at least an 80% chance of securing a permanent contract (CDI) for those who successfully complete the training.Here, this approach has already proven its worth.We have already organised several “Water Mains Operative” training programmes in this context in the past, and several colleagues have permanently joined our teams through this pathway.Investing in Skills, Building the FutureBy launching this new training programme, the Wanty Group confirms its commitment to:professional training,sustainable employment,and the development of in-house skills.Training today ensures the quality of our projects tomorrow.It also offers motivated individuals a real career opportunity, within a robust group that is rooted in the region and focused on the future.Joining Wanty means learning, growing… and building what truly mattersBecause behind every drinking water network, there are dedicated teams.And behind every team, there is a company that believes in human potential.
